Accommodation List

Every week the Housing Team publish a list of properties available to rent privately throughout the Vale. This is a list of privately advertised properties compiled from advertisements in the local press.

As such, we do not inspect these properties and therefore cannot say whether the accommodation is as described, is in a proper state of repair or is safe for habitation.  The Council does not accept any liability for damage or loss resulting in securing accommodation from this listing.

You should therefore visit the property prior to entering into any tenancy agreement and you may want to seek professional advice from ourselves, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau or Turpin, Miller & Higgins before signing a tenancy. If the property has gas appliances the landlord needs to have these approved annually by a Corgi registered engineer. This is a legal requirement and you should ask to see the certificate prior to signing a tenancy agreement.

It is the decision of the letting agents and landlords whether they accept either housing benefit or the Rent Deposit Bond.

**The most up to date accommodation list (Jan 2010) can be downloaded in PDF format here.**

The website www.dailyinfo.co.uk is another good source of privately advertised accommodation.
