What we mean in this Website

"WE" means Vale of White Horse District Council.

"YOU" means a person who is applying for a house or other place to live. This could be a single person, or a member of a family who will share the house.

"SOCIAL HOUSING" or "AFFORDABLE HOUSING" is sometimes called "COUNCIL HOUSING".

"HOUSING ASSOCIATIONS" manage "SOCIAL HOUSING" in the Vale. The Council nominates people to the Housing Associations as tenants. Housing Associations also build new Social Housing. Some also provide support for their tenants.
