Who We Are and What We Do

The Housing Advice Team can offer help on several aspects of housing.

• We deal with advice relating to housing options and housing rights.  These can include:
  • Landlord and tenant rights;
  • Relationship breakdowns and
  • Basic money advice.
• We handle applications to join the housing register.
• We allocate social housing through the Choice Based Lettings Scheme.
• We can offer help and advice on homelessness.
• We can assist people suffering from domestic violence.

If we cannot help you with any special advice you might need, we can put you in touch with another organisation that can help.

The department has four Senior Housing Advice Officers.  They are all qualified to deal with your enquiries.  They are:
