How We Make Sure There are Houses To Bid For
|
We have agreements with all the Housing Associations who are our partners. These ensure that:
-
We are told when a house or flat becomes vacant. We decide, with the Housing Association, which band that house or flat should be in.
-
A few houses or flats are allocated by direct match. Some vacancies are kept by the Housing Association for their own transfer applications.
We set quotas each year which say how many homes should be in each band. If, during the year, the demand for homes in the bands is greater than we predicted, we are able to change the quotas.

These pages give a simple general summary. Housing law and policy is very complicated and individual cases may not follow this pattern. Ring Housing Advice for help if you are uncertain.
